Aurore Guichard, (Guest Researcher)
Education:
B.S., 2001, University of Limoges (France)
Research Expertise and Interests:
Ms. Guichard research involves analyzing organic contaminants (PCBs, PAHs, PDBEs)
in a various set of marine environmental matrices. The analysis of man-made brominated and chlorinated
pollutants is accomplished using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Current
objectives of Ms. Guichard work include (1) determining man-made brominated and chlorinated pollutants
levels in Dolphin blood, blubber, and milk according to the dolphin health assessments program
(2) participating to samples collection, handling, storage and assisting in the field peoples to ensure
adherence to the protocols (3) improving quality assurance activities with developing and validating
analytical procedures.
Prior to coming to NIST in 2005, Ms. Guichard worked in the laboratory managed by Olivier F. X.
Donard (LCABIE, University of Pau, France) working on the development of analytical techniques
devoted to organic compounds separation and analysis. She has also three years of full experience
working in the pharmaceutical industry (Viatris Manufacturing, France), performing quality control
and applying quality assurance procedures considering drugs manufacturing.
