Lauren B. Rust, Research Biologist

Education:
M.S., 2008, University of Wales, Bangor
B.A., 2004, College of Charleston, SC

Research Expertise and Interests:

Lauren recently joined the Analytical Chemistry Division. Her research goals are to implement cryogenic environmental specimen banking activities through the collection of marine animal tissues, including marine mammals and Alaskan colonial seabirds. Prior to her employment at NIST in 2008, Lauren worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Ocean Service in the Marine Mammal Stranding Department conducting necropsies and assisting in several other life-history projects. She is excited to join the Marine Specimen Bank group.
