Jen Hoguet, Research Biologist

Education:

M.S., 2004, College of Charleston, SC
B.S., 1997, College of Charleston, SC

Jen is a new addition to NIST's Organic Analytical Methods Group. Her research will focus on quantifying organic contaminants (particularly PBDEs and PCBs) in marine organisms, including sea turtles and dolphin. Another prospective study involves determining carbon isotope ratios in dolphin skin to relay information regarding trophic levels.

Prior to her employment at NIST, Jen worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Ocean Service in the Ecotoxicology Department conducting a variety of toxilogical assessments with particular focus on biomarker studies in a multitude of estuarine organisms (i.e., oysters, grass shrimp, and amphipods). She has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed publications on these topics.
